A pleasure to meet you, Son. This post resonates deeply with me, the mother of two grown, Black sons, I share with their IItalian-American father. They look like me, they identify as Black, and their experiences are the same as yours.

I appreciate your departure from what's being written about Tyre Nichols' death at the hands of police who look like us. I appreciate the depth with which you see the consequences of being a Black man in America and were willing to share your thoughts. Oddly, it took me away from the "Trauma Porn" of the video (which I cannot watch) and made me see how important it is to actually "SEE" our young men now -- before the carnage.

Thank you for that rearranging -- it helped this old broad deal with tragedy, immensely!!
