As a dark-skinned mother of two Black men -- and yes, they, I and their Italian father & family, recognize them as such -- that union of "colors" didn't have shit to do with my healing. It was my belief in myself and my husband's, so far, 42-year love that's healed me from the ravages of white supremacy.

I feel sorry for home-girl if that's really what she thinks, cuz it WILL come back to haunt her reality.
