Mark, I'm an old-assed Boomer who grew up in Charleston, SC but you are absolutely right about this! My family had a Black, female doctor whose last name was the same as ours (no relation though) and SHE MADE HOUSECALLS!!! She'd come to my Mama's house and see us all, for whatever was ailing us!
