Brother, I appreciate your writing this piece so damned much! The husband, a retired, Navy guy woking for the DOD was in both Kabul and Bagram. My youngest served in Iraq and came home with PTSD to the nth degree (something the VA continues to deny). The beautifully, loving son that went , is eons away from the son I got back -- raging often, then crying in apology. He's working on it, we all are. War ain't good for nobody, Brother -- particularly when none of it had to happen.

I'm so glad you're okay and able to tell the stories out loud that our government would rather not be told. Much respect...
