Catelyn, I live in San Antonio and have lived here three separate times (military family) though I'm not a Texan. You know the annual "Fiesta" celebration held in April? It's a celebration of your guy and his Alamo cohorts. My sons are now grown with families of their own and they consider San Antonio their home because it's the place they've lived the longest and they have lots of friends here of every color of the rainbow, all of whom I love and love talking to.

Talking to the Latina wife of one of my youngest son's friends as Fiesta approached (she's from McAllen, born and raised and later moved here with her parents. She and her husband have their own business here that'd definitely benefit from all that Fiesta traffic). I asked if they'd planned on going downtown to Fiesta and she said, "Nope. Aside from celebrating the folks who fought to maintain slavery in Texas, it's also about those same white folks who oppressed my people and now are benefitting economically from that oppression!"

Unfortunately, Travis IS your guy.
