Don't know why I'm just stumbling upon this but -- Young Lily, I HAVE BEEN WAITING to hear from someone who's actually being affected by all this madness adults are doing in your name -- supposedly to "protect" you! Thanks for writing this AND for bringing the receipts!!

And yes, you're missing plenty young lady, like the opportunity to LEARN:

- the why's and wherefores of someone else's story;

- their true history for a change (and white people's contribution to it, good and bad );

- their STEM contributions (and there've been many!);

- their hopes and dreams (some of which may also be yours!);

- their fears and pain (some of which may be yours too!);

- their loves and joys; just to name a few.

Appears you're already a critically thinking young lady, Dear heart -- Keep it up and you won't miss out on much more!
