I loved "Things Fall Apart" and that line particularly resonates with me because it's succinct and so true. No matter where we live, all we need do is look around at how the histories of marginalized/indigenous groups are portrayed versus those of the oppressors. I'm 68 damned years old and I'm STILL learning shit I never knew, which is why I follow a variety of people from different countries all over the world.

I recently stumbled upon, and began following, a woman here on Medium because of her wonderful, historical accounts about the Maori people of New Zealand -- more shit I never knew. Hell, look at all of the shit Canadians hid about the aboriginal people there (that whole unmarked graves containing the remains of 215 children found at a former residential school set up to assimilate indigenous people had people shook!). Same for Native Americans here. I'm so glad that Deb Haaland is now the Secretary of the Interior here because she's one of those "historians for the lions" who's making sure "the history of the hunt" no longer glorifies the hunter.
