Funny, I remember growing up in Charleston and as each of my Mama's siblings reached 18 and wanted to leave the Island to move "to Town," or "up North," since she was the oldest and first to leave -- they all came through our house (all 14 of 'em!) and stayed until they got themselves where they wanted to be. Guess folks don't do that shit any more.
