"Laura is your daughter? πŸ˜… Woah, you could literally be my grandmother then as I am 23."

Laura's my "Cultural Daughter" -- many of us older, Black folk in the South tend to call ALL the younguns our own!🀣 And yes, because you're 23 -- I coud, IN FACT, be your grandmother!!🀣 I'm 68 1/2 years old and I have two sons -- 40 & 43 years old AND four grandchildren (now five, counting you!🀣). I do appreciate the respect though, because there's not a lot of that going around these days, though ALL of my sons' friends call me "Miss Deb." When I was coming up during segregation, we always addressed OUR elders as "Miss, Mrs. or Mr." out of respect, because white folk CERTAINLY weren't paying them any.

I think you'll enjoy the book. It's a wonderful snapshot of what we, Black folk were, are and can still be!
