Max, I absolutley LOVE this representation of "Jimmy" (like he's my best friend)! Know that it was not until being stationed in Key West, FL in the early '80s that my Black ass, from SC really GOT IT! I made friends who LOVED me and my family (not only cuz I was the first, Black OPED writer they'd had in long time who gave a shit about what was happening in our community) -- I was fuckin' supported! Black, white, gay, straight -- I felt the love! And in return, cuz I loved him madly, we "James Baldwined" each other on the daily. It was --THE BEST, GROWING OF MY LIFE!!!
