Oh, I'm certain it wasn't just for her own comfort, but still -- when is somebody, ANYBODY that close to power going to stand up and say, ENOUGH!

While I agree a more subdued response might be safer for others to a degree, but the continued "soul murder" they keep inflicting on Black folks, particularly on American Descendants of Slavery (ADOS) is NOT safer for us. It just keeps building and building, destroying generations in its wake. And like me, both she and her mother are ADOS, from SC!!!

When the Obamas were positioned to do something, they just sat back and let it continue to happen. They certainly didn't ever put any pressure on these fools to do the right thing. Now that she's reaped the benefits of sitting on her damned hands culturally, she's full-on representing with her mad, braid-wearing bullshit. When I think of them both, I'm reminded of this powerful song by Emile Sandé:

https://youtu.be/ZsXtLTvfBuE

Like she sings:

"You've got the words to change a nation, but you're biting your tongue. you've spent a lifetime stuck in silence, afraid that you'll say something wrong. If no one ever hears it, how're we gonna learn the song?..."

They had an excellent opportunity that they traded for so-called pragmatism and wealth. I don't give a shit about either of them.
