And just like your namesake (my favorite writer), you've stripped white folk bare with these truths and I absolutely co-sign every one of your conclusions.

Look, I know it's a lot of highlighting, but DAMMIT, all those horrific acts NEED to be highlighted over and over again because, as Mr. Baldwin once wrote, "Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced."

Whether white folk want to know or not, if they want me to really believe they're an ally -- they need to face their damned history and understand what it's going to take to repair the breach of trust they've created from the day they brought us here unwillingly to today.
