Thanks for this Barb, it's made me think deeply -- so much so, I'm saving it until I can formulate a well-reasoned response. Like you, from kindergarten to 8th grade, I went to a Catholic school in the segregated South (one of the first, red-flags!) I've long-since stopped believing in white Jesus. I call it my "crisis of faith period" -- it was deep for me to let go of all the indoctrination..

Your post has made me think about the spirituality that I live, which leads me to do what I think is right by, and for, all those in my life or that I encounter. I'll be back once I suss out my feelings because you've definitely given me much to consider!
