However, when a white person was to adopt parts of our cultures, all of a sudden it's cool, and it's trendy. The attitude completely flips around. As a result, as the innovators and contributors to these aesthetics, we do not get the recognition and credit that we rightfully deserve.

Thanks for this Petiri (such a beautiful name, what does it mean?). It's such a beautiful and succinct exposé on the endless assimilation of our culture by white folk! They can't give it up because they have NO CULTURE OF THEIR OWN THAT THEY'RE PROUD OF!
