White, Evangelical Christians — find your OWN damned children to “SAVE!”

Native Americans are once again battling White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy’s assault on their children in the case of Haaland v. Brackeen, brought before the Supremes on November 9, during Native American Heritage Month (Coincidence? I think not).

The case is challenging the constitutionality of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), passed in 1978 to protect the removal of Native American children from their tribes to be adopted by non-Indians for the purposes of forced assimilation into white culture or, as Capt. Richard H. Pratt, founder of the U.S. Training and Industrial School founded in 1879 at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, famously said during an Official Report of the Nineteenth Annual Conference of Charities and Correction (1892) “Kill the Indian in him and save the man.”

There were almost 150 boarding schools educating thousands of Native American children around the United States by 1900. Carlisle, was the model for most of these schools, providing vocational and manual training while systematically stripping away tribal culture. They insisted students drop their Indian names, forbade the speaking of native languages, and cut off their long hair —…
