It's not our fault they didn't hold onto what made them like Black folk (and Native Americans) had to, just to survive their raping, pillaging, murdering selves. Both groups, for the most part, HAD to stand on the shoulders that raised them, given the examples set by the oppressors because most of us (had to qualify that since there are some who prefer to forget "from whence they came" as James Baldwin once said) didn't want to be like them!
