We pretty much live away from the hubbub unless we go downtown, so oddly, I do like it here despite the overall racism in TX. I just RE-E-EALLY hate Greg Abbott's administration and the shit they keep passing that helps absolutely no one. I can't tell you how unsettling it is to go somewhere and see signs on the door that says, "No guns allowed" (No training or license required!).

But I truly DO love the diversity of the city -- hell, I've got my own version of a UN in my own family (the husband's Italian-American, I'm Black, one son's wife is part Native-American and British and the other's is Latina)! One of my neighbors is a Chinese family and on the other side, the mother's white with a son whose Dad is Latino. We've got a great mix of folk who look out for each other here!
