What an excellent, excellent piece Allison! Thanks for "making it plain" how these unity-seekers will do more harm than good. Sadly, I've no faith in the incoming administration's ability OR willingness to provide the restorative justice about which you wrote, or the reparative justice for which Black folk have been waiting for hundreds of years.

I think your, "multiple political parties strengthen democracy" is exactly what's needed because as you said, "Calls to come together fly in the face of the reality of American society." It'd take an inordinate amount of "stitches" to try and fix that shit.
