It reminds me of when I had to give up the bullshit both Black and white folk kept spewing about "White Jesus." That was the hardest thing my Black, Baptist, once-Catholic ass has ever had to do, because I was inculcated with those lies from birth -- and I believed them! But the older I got and was able to critically think, I had to let him go. Especially when I learned about "Dum Diversas" and how the damned Pope "blessed" the enslavement of my people.

Cognitive dissonance is a BITCH -- but one has to clear those cobwebs from the brain oneself, by paying attention, educating yourself, having meaningful exchanges with other "travelers" along the way -- in order to move forward. After that absolutely, painful experience, I'll be damned if I DEIFY or worship a human being of flesh and blood!!
