Yeah we do. Your daughter should remain vigilant as well, though. While she only got a ticket from the cops, you never know what kind of NUT is out there carrying who may strongly disagree with her beliefs.

Yep, Texas. And with the antics of Abbot and his cronies (the border, legislation that says no training or license needed to have/carry a gun, AR-15s welcome; the Ten Commandments required to be posted in every classroom, etc., etc., etc.), believe me I'm extra vigilant!

When the husband retired from his "gubment job" after retiring from the Navy, we decided to come here because both our grown sons and their children are here and we wanted to watch the grandchildren grow up. Even though the older son was born when I was stationed in CA, and the younger son was born when I was stationed in FL, they see TX as their home because this is the place we'd been stationed the longest as they grew up, went to school and made lifelong friends. The cost of living is great, so we can live like we want and there's no state income taxes either. I get to hang out and work with the sons' young friends, sharing what I know by having "Dialogues" (like I used to do in FL -- pre-DeSantis) where we all can talk about shit that has happened and still is happening, figuring out how to help them make the changes they want to see in the world. So there are some wonderfully, fulfilling things about being here though vigilance is always my watchword!

Thanks for being concerned about me, Darlin'! Know that if anything goes sideways, I'll definitely be shouting it from the rooftops on Medium and wherever else I can -- so keep an eye out!
