Yep! Another REAL ONE! We have one every November anyway though, because our wedding anniversary falls on the 28th of November (43 years comin' up!). While we DO cook turkey with all the fixins (old habits are definitely hard to break!), given the history of the holiday, we call it "Thanks for Giving Love" instead.
The grandkids ALL help cooking (the two youngest love puttin' the marshmallows into the raisin and sweet potato-stuffed orange rinds), while Grandpa and the Dads grill the turkey outside and talk shit. It's always a wonderful celebration and some of the Dads from the birthday party will be there TOO this time! Got my old-school R&B playlist ready for their asses (Minnie Ripperton's "Lovin' You" is number one on the list because that's the song to which we fell in love).
